A Father's Influence
Reflecting on a father – the good times, the laughter, the lessons learned, the significance of a legacy, and a life’s work. While he is no longer with us, his impact is felt profoundly. We feel it in the energy of our team, the superior output, and the commitment to excellence. Dad was upbeat and loved doing business! Loved serving customers. Pace. Being the best. These values are in our bones.
Here’s happy Dad when our new offices were being constructed in the winter of 2014. He loved building and overseeing construction projects, seeing it all come together.
He was obsessed with simplicity and economy. His first product was the aluminum section picture frame, the product he envisioned being sold at scale, to artists of all kinds throughout our country, a product that would put money in his customers’ pockets while exhibiting art beautifully on their walls. Guess what? He was right!
Over wine at a family dinner, here’s Dad giving me a lesson in how to clean an acrylic painting on canvas using dish soap, warm water, and a paint brush.
Today as we celebrate all fathers, I'm forever thankful for mine. The love. The wisdom. The fun. The guidance. And with the partnership of my sister and the help of my family and our incredible team, I'm grateful for the inspiration to keep evolving this great company.
Dad, my sister Dana, and me at lunch in 2016. Every Wednesday for nearly 19 years, from the time I moved back to the area in 2000 until he no longer could, we looked forward to this time together.
Here’s Dad, a very proud father-in-law, along with my stepmother Jill and my husband Reid (also a great dad and American Frame CEO) at his UofM EMBA graduation in 2016.
Dad, your presence is felt.
Happy Father’s Day!
