Shipping Schedule

Custom frame orders with in-stock materials are typically ship within 4-5 business days, and production may take up to 7 business days at times. Large or more complex orders may require more time. If you are on a deadline, notify us immediately. Each American Frame order is built-to-order; PrecisionCut™ to your exact specifications, then hand-crafted, inspected and packaged with utmost care for safe arrival. Please allow up to 8 business days for orders that include fine art printing and framing. Volume orders may require additional production time.

How long will my order be in transit?

Delivery times depend on the shipping method you select. We offer Ground, Next Day Air, Second Day Air, and LTL shipping methods for Monday – Friday business day delivery. Before choosing an expedited shipping method, consult the map below for normal transit times. Please note that choosing expedited shipping does not rush production. Most frames and frame accessories ship in 4-5 business days. For rush production requests, please contact Customer Service.

Free Shipping

There is always a Free Ground Shipping offer at American Frame. Please check our banner for the current promotion. 

Offers automatically to eligible carts within the contiguous 48 states. Please note that orders requiring freight delivery, expedited services or those that contain oversized items or bulk hardware are not eligible for any free shipping offer. Items that exceed 71 united inches (length + width), or do not fit within our 33" x 46" or 34" x 34" boxes will not qualify for free shipping. The website will do all the calculations and will indicate qualifying carts at checkout. Free Ground Shipping cannot be combined with any other discount including volume discounts, commercial discounts, Alliance discounts, or any other promotional codes.

Oversized Shipping Fees

Our shipping costs are based on the size and weight of the shipping box. Carriers use dimensional weight shipping when they calculate the cost of shipping a package. This means that in addition to the weight of the item, the size of the box affects the cost as well.

Oversized item fees are calculated by the shipping company, and the shipping estimate is provided during checkout.

Pick-up Option

Are you a customer local to Maumee, Ohio? You can avoid shipping fees by picking up your order at our showroom. Once your order is ready, we will contact you to arrange for you to stop at our production facility to pick up your order.

Same Day Shipping

Need your custom frame fast? Our Same-Day Shipping service ensures eligible items ship the same day they’re ordered, provided they meet specific criteria. Orders can include up to 20 custom metal frames, 10 unjoined custom wood frames, or items from our Trending Now or Ready-To-Ship collections, all within a size limit of 32 x 40 inches. Eligible products also include custom mat boards, acrylic, and mounting boards. To take advantage of this service, contact our Customer Service team by 10 AM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), at (800) 537-0944. A 20% Same-Day Service surcharge (or $25 minimum) applies, expediting production but not shipping. Select 2-Day or Next Day shipping at checkout or opt for showroom pick-up. Please note that oversized, print & frame, or larger volume orders are not eligible. Phones are open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern to assist with your needs.

Product Samples

Texture is an important part of design, and it’s not always effectively translated online or in a catalog. That’s why we offer free sample chips of all picture frames, mat boards, and printing papers. There’s a shipping & handling fee per sample order (maximum of 10 samples) if you order samples on their own. If the samples are part of an order for American Frame products, there is no additional charge.

Free samples and print proofs are shipped via FedEx Ground within two business day after the order is placed. Shipments leave from Maumee, Ohio and can take from a few days to a few weeks to arrive.

White Label Shipping Option

If you need to fulfill an order for a client but don’t want American Frame branding on the packaging, indicate ‘White Label’ in the order notes checkout. White label fulfillment is available for items that are printed and framed from our facility.

Gallery or Show Shipments

If your shipment is going to a gallery for a show, please indicate any special instructions you’d like us to follow or inserts you’d like us to include for the gallery.

Additional Shipping Information

For accelerated shipping, we offer Standard Overnight, Express Saver, and Two-Day services.

When choosing an expedited method, please consider your deadlines and leave a comment at checkout so our team is aware of your needs.

Rates are based on dimensional weight and will be quoted during checkout. Most frames and frame accessories ship within four business days.

Choosing expedited shipping does not rush production unless arrangements are made in advance with a Customer Service representative.

Orders may be shipped via Ground or Expedited service.

Free shipping promotional discounts do not apply to orders delivered outside of the continental United States.

Orders shipped to APO and FPO addresses are sent via USPS Priority Mail.

We will notify you of your shipping rate before your order is processed.

We are a U.S.-based company serving customers across all 50 states.

For international shipping, we can accommodate special requests provided the customer accepts full responsibility once the order leaves our facility. This includes shipping timelines, potential damages, duties, taxes, and any associated costs.

When placing an order online, please ship to a freight forwarding company that will coordinate delivery to your international destination.

Once the order is in the hands of the freight forwarder, we cannot be responsible for the product. Please contact Customer Service with any questions.

Orders shipped to PO Boxes are sent via USPS Priority Mail.
