Choosing a Print Size and Determining Framing Prices: Two Easy Methods
American Frame provides the total package to help you: Here you can order prints and have them framed, then shipped right to your door. You can also order unframed prints in many sizes and any quantity.
Custom printing offers two big advantages: You can determine the type of paper, canvas or other substrate you’d like the print on and choose among many appropriate sizes. But how do you know which size is best? Or how your choices will influence your framing prices?

COST: There are two easy ways to know ahead of time what your print will cost.
#1: Use our framing engine. As you make selections for both size and type of paper or canvas, the framing engine will display your print cost at the bottom, in the list of package items. If you aren’t ready to order, you can use the engine to generate pricing, then come back later to complete the order.
To price out an Art Gallery print, choose the Art Gallery tab on our home page, select the print you’d like and click “Configure Package.”
To price out a print of your own, go to the Art & Photo Printing tab on our home page, then click the blue “get started now” button. Once you upload your image, you’ll see it displayed and be able to walk through size and paper/canvas choices.
#2 If you’d rather not use the framing engine, you can do a quick manual calculation with our handy PDF. To find the price, add the price for the width of the paper to the price for the height, rounding fractions up to the next whole inch.
For example, if you have a 4˝ x 40˝ image and want to print it on Moab Lasal Photo Matte paper, take the price for 4˝ ($3.00- the pricing starts at 5” so the price for 4˝ is the same as 5˝) and add it to the price of 40˝ ($33.00). The total is: $36.00.

SIZE: You can’t go wrong! Our printing engine makes recommendations for you.
For both Art Gallery prints and files customers upload, the framing engine will allow you to choose from a list of recommended print sizes. The engine generates the list based on the resolution of the file and an acceptable pixel range of 120 ppi, so you don’t need to worry about a large print being low quality.
At American Frame, we’ve provided you with everything you need in order to have beautiful, professional quality prints, at a wide range of framing prices, delivered directly to your door.
