Our Staff’s Favorite Frames

American Frame loves art and the people who create it. And some of those people work right in our showroom and warehouse. Here are some of their favorite go-to picture frames.
Nothing says “elegance” like a touch of gold. Our Standard Plus Three Frosted Gold Metal Picture Frame takes the sophisticated hue to the next level with a frosted finish. Christine from our showroom says the picture frame sets her posters and family photos apart.
“The thin flat metal edge that you see when looking directly at the frame is very subtle and doesn’t distract from the art or photo at all,” she said. “I think the brushed gold with the flat edge is a fresh modern take on a classic.”
Other artists opt for true neutral to let their work take center stage. Jacob from our print department uses just two frames for his photography, our Basics White Wood Picture Frame and our Basics Black Wood Picture Frame.
“When combined with a heavily bottom-weighted white mat, they give you a classic gallery look,” he said.
When your photography is black and white, however, you may want a dash of color. Chris from our commercial framing department trusts the Brushed Silver Wood Picture Frame from our Econo Wood collection for his black and white cemetery photographs.
“I love the tone of silver as well as the antique, but simple style,” he said. “It is very versatile and works well with lots of different things. I also like that it is high quality for a low price.”
Looking for an on-trend hue? Consider our Twilight Nielsen® Rose Gold Metal Picture Frame, a favorite of April from our customer service team.

“The versatility of this profile really offers a modern look to images, while staying true to a simple metal frame profile,” she said. “I’ve used this frame on digital paintings. It has acted as a subtle border around my intricate pieces while not distracting the viewer from my artwork.”
