COVID-19 : Production Status Update

As you know, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been affecting our business and our suppliers since the Spring of 2020; from our business closure to supply shortages, it has been a challenging time in our 47-year history.

As always, the health, safety of our employees, customers, and vendors remain our daily focus. We are continuously updating our best practices and adopting new guidance from appropriate governmental and health agencies. We have instituted remote work policies and travel restrictions, updated our preparedness plans, and heightened cleaning, health, safety, and hygiene practices at our production facility and for our personnel.

Although we at American Frame have been back in operation since May, COVID-19 has impacted and is expected to continue to impact all levels of our supply chain for the foreseeable future. The resulting product shortages, manufacturing delays, increased lead times, are all unforeseeable events outside of our control. Moreover, the ultimate duration and scope of these and other still unknown effects remain unclear. This situation has impacted one of our largest suppliers, Nielsen Bainbridge that produces our metal frame moldings and many of our archival mat boards. You may have noticed that many of these items have been listed on our website as ‘Out of Stock’. While we’ve temporarily added similar materials from other suppliers to serve you, there are some mouldings and several mat colors that are unique to Nielsen Bainbridge.  If you have an order that has been on back order for some time, we may suggest making an alternative selection.  One of our Customer Engagement Representatives would be happy to help guide any recommendations.
