Did You Know: All Shipments are Carbon Neutral?

At American Frame, we exercise a number of eco-friendly practices. One of the most important is our participation in UPS’ Carbon Neutral Fund. (You can read about our other efforts in a previous blog post.)

As you know, UPS uses a lot of fuel to deliver packages. To offset the resultant carbon dioxide emissions, the company funds certified projects, such as the Garcia River restoration in California. This project facilitates high growth rates and the development of larger, denser redwood and Douglas fir forests, the two trees most crucial to storing carbon and thus improving and sustaining our environment.

American Frame participates in the Garcia River Project and UPS’ other three Carbon Neutral Funds every time we ship. For ground packages we donate 5 cents per package to the funds; for air packages we donate 20 cents per package.

This means that for every UPS shipment we send, American Frame is helping preserve and grow U.S. forests, an essential protection against environmental degradation. Participation in this program earns us the CarbonNeutral® seal, which can be found on our packages. But don’t worry; these donations don’t impact your shipping costs!

UPS’ Carbon Neutral Fund is certified by the CarbonNeutral Company (who just happens to be the world leading provider of carbon reduction solutions).
