Announcing the NEW Featured Artist Program

I am so proud to finally announce our new Featured Artist Program. This program will be invaluable to the art community and we encourage you to join us! Here is the story as told in a press release that was sent to the media today.

American Frame, a web-based custom picture framing and printing company, is launching a monthly contest for all types of visual artists and photographers in July 2014.  The goal of the contest is to give artists a chance to showcase their work, build a public following and receive financial rewards, all with the help of American Frame.  All artists who offer prints of their work for sale in American Frame’s online Art Gallery are qualified to apply for the contest, regardless of their medium.  Maintaining an Art Gallery at is free and artists who do not presently have a gallery are welcome to create one before they apply.

Held monthly via American Frame’s Facebook page, the contest asks the public to select their favorite image among that month’s entrants.  Votes will be tallied and the winning artist will receive a choice of either $250 cash or a $400 gift certificate at; a prominent position on the home page for one month; a national press release about the artist and his/her winning work; circulation of the winning image via social media; and a 20% discount on all purchases at good for one calendar year from the date the award is issued.

Featured Artist Contest

The contest is the brainchild of American Frame’s President Laura Jajko and CEO Dana Dunbar.  “Years ago American Frame opened an online Art Gallery and invited artists worldwide to display and sell prints of their work,” Jajko explains.  “The collaboration has proven to be just what we’d hoped: a marriage of great art and great frames.  We took this concept further with our Featured Artist program, in which select images were publicized on our homepage and via other media, but now we are opening up the selection process to the public and adding direct financial awards for the artist.  We made that decision because art is both deeply personal and a way of communicating, of joining together.  We want our artists and people buying their work to have a collaboration and feedback space, and we want the artists to benefit as fully and directly as possible.”

An application, contest guidelines and award information is available now at .  Artists wishing to apply can do so online by signing into their art gallery account.  Artists without a free art gallery are welcome to create one in order to qualify.
