To order a custom mat, select the mat color you want. At the next page, enter the finished outside dimensions (art size + borders) in the width and height fields by using the drop down arrows. Then, select the border widths – top, sides and bottom. We generally recommend that you size the window opening to overlap your art by 1/8” on all 4 sides unless you are floating your art within the mat. For example, an 8 x 10 image with a finished size of 12 x 14 would have a 7 ¾” x 9 ¾” window opening and 2 1/8” borders.
